Stimmen vom START Summit 2016

Was kam bei draus?

Was erhoffst du dir vom diesjährigen START Summit?

Erzähl mal, was genau macht dein Start-up?

Was ist dein erster Eindruck vom Summit?

Elle

Could you please introduce yourself?

Sure. My name is Elle and I’m a marketing master at the University of St.Gallen.

What brings you here?

I don’t have a start-up at the moment, but eventually that’s the path I’d like to go down. At the moment, I’m mainly here for inspiration, networking and to get to know the start-up culture.

Great. What’s your impression of the conference so far?

So far, it’s very, very cool. It’s not only huge, but it also seems like it’s organized very well.

Is there a specific industry you are particularly interested in?

I’m definitely interested in fashion and eCommerce and I’m planing to go down that road in the next few years.

Simon

Könntest du dich unseren Lesern kurz vorstellen?

Sicher doch.

Welche Themen interessieren dich besonders?

Was möchtest denn wissen?

Was hat dich hergebracht?

Was macht dein Start-up?

Aneta

Could you please introduce yourself?

I’m Aneta, I’m from Prague and I came here as a founder.

What is your company doing?

Basically it’s about traveling. You can take a picture while traveling and send it as real postcard to your friends and family. For every postcard, we give $1 to a local cause.

What were your expectations for this Summit?

Get some inspiration, meet with like-minded people and also find some non-profits to collaborate with.

Expectations satisfied?

Even exceeded!

Nice to hear. Is this your first time at the START Summit?

Yeah! It is not only the first time at the START Summit, but the first time at such a big conference. And, I have to say, I’m amazed.

Michael

Ryan

Could you please introduce yourself?

My name is Ryan. I’m from New York City. I’m here as a visitor, not as founder or investor.

You travelled here from NYC?

Yeah. Came for a lot of things, business as well as personal stuff, but yeah, here I am.

What are your impressions so far?

It’s cool. Didn’t know that Europe has such a start-up culture. That kind of culture is super common in the US, especially in NYC but it came as a surprise to me that you can find it in Europe as well. The vibe is pretty similar to New York.

You are working in the Start-up scene in the US?

Yes. Started a company and sold it about three month ago. So, I’m kinda retired now.

Congratulations! What was your company about?

Fintech. You probably never have heard of it. It was in the broker space and yeah, that’s actually about it.

Sounds great. Lots of founder here want to achieve what you already achieved. Any words of advise?

Honestly, luck played a big role in what happened to me. So I don’t really feel comfortable to give a viable tip to another founder.
